Biography

Revólver, a Spanish rock band founded in 1988 by Carlos Goñi after leaving Comité Cisne, initially included Rafael Picó, Sergio Roger, and Jorge Lario. After signing with Warner Music, Revólver released their self-titled debut album Revólver in 1990. The band's breakthrough came with Básico, a live acoustic album recorded in the MTV Unplugged format, which included hits like "Dentro de ti" and "Si es tan solo amor." This album reached Number 1 on the Spanish charts and solidified Revólver’s popularity. Subsequent albums such as El Dorado (1994) and Calle Mayor (1995) further established Goñi's reputation as a socially conscious songwriter. The band continued to release successful albums. Sur (2000), which featured the hit "San Pedro," was followed by 8:30 a.m. (2002) and Mestizo (2004). Revólver has sold over 1.5 million records, with many of their songs becoming cultural touchstones in Spain.
