Biography

Reynaldo Creagh Verane, born Reynaldo Creagh on July 9, 1918, in Santiago de Cuba, was a Cuban singer. As a child, he sang for cigar and rum factory owners. His musical career began in 1938 with his first performance with the septet Sonora. In 1962, Creagh became a founding member of the Orquestra Estudiantina Invasora, and in 1994, he was involved in establishing the Vieja Trova Santiaguera. His contributions to traditional Cuban music were highlighted in films such as "Lágrimas Negras - Schwarze Tränen" (1997) and "Los reyes del son" (2007). At 93, he performed with The Bar at Buena Vista in Europe. Creagh passed away on November 16, 2014.
