Red 7 was a short-lived American rock band formed in 1984 in San Francisco. The group consisted of Michael Becker, Gene Stashuk, and Paul Revelli. Their debut album, Red 7 (1985), was released under MCA Records, featuring the notable track "Heartbeat", which gained significant exposure by being featured in the soundtrack of Michael Mann's 1986 film Manhunter and an episode of Miami Vice. Their second album, When the Sun Goes Down (1987), was released two years later. Following this release, Red 7 lost their contract with MCA Records and disbanded shortly after.
