Biography

Rebanhão was a Brazilian Christian rock band formed in 1979 by singer and songwriter Janires Magalhães Manso. The group gained national notoriety with their debut album, Mais Doce Que o Mel, released in 1981. Their live album, Janires e Amigos (1984), was the first gospel album recorded live in Brazil. After Janires Magalhães Manso left in 1985, guitarist and singer Carlinhos Felix took over as lead vocalist, leading to successful albums like Semeador. Following Felix's departure for a solo career, keyboardist Pedro Braconnot became the new frontman. The band released several more albums, including Enquanto é Dia (1994). They released the album Vamos Viver o Amor in 1999 before ending their activities in 2000. Rebanhão is often cited as a pioneer in modernizing Christian music and influencing contemporary Christian musicians.
