Random Encounter, an independent American video game music cover/inspired band from Orlando, Florida, was formed in 2005 by two friends who bonded over their mutual love for video game music. Known for featuring an accordion as the lead instrument, they released their first album, Random Encounter, in 2010. The band gained significant recognition for their dynamic stage presence and visual antics, performing at major venues like Nerdapalooza, MAGFest, Gencon, Otakon, SXSW, and the Hard Rock Live in Orlando. They were selected as the Best Folk Act in 2011, the Best Indie Act in 2012, and the Best Rock Act in Central Florida for 2013. In 2014, they composed music for the video game Super Galaxy Squadron. The band announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016 before releasing Lost Frequency (2017).
