Biography

Born in Sweden to Argentinian parents in 1978, José González spent his youth in various post-punk and hardcore rock bands before moving into the acoustic folk vein. Released locally in 2003, his debut album Veneer enjoyed delayed success two years later, but on a global scale, thanks to the tracks "Heartbeats" (a cover by the band The Knife) and "Crosses", used in commercials and in the credits of TV series. When he's not recording with Zero 7 or the trio Junip (the albums Fields released in 2010 and Junip in 2013), José González patiently devotes himself to his solo work with the albums In Our Nature (2007) then Vestiges & Claws (2015).
