Biography
Quatuor Renoir was a French string quartet founded in Paris in 1995. The group performed extensively across France and internationally. In 2000, Quatuor Renoir won first prize at the FNAPEC Competition (Paris), third prize at the Vittorio Gui International Competition (Florence), and fifth prize at the London International String Quartet Competition. They participated in Radio-France's Alla Breve recording series starting in 2002 and performed at the Festival Présences from 2003 to 2006. Notable releases include Schumann: Quatuors Op. 41 Nos. 1 & 3 (2006) and Miaskovsky: Quartets No. 1 and 13. The group was awarded the Ministry of Culture Prize at the Bordeaux International Competition in 2003 and received a "Coup de cÅur" from the Société Générale's Music Patronage program. Quatuor Renoir disbanded in 2014.
