Biography

Quatuor Cambini-Paris is a French string quartet founded in Paris in 2007. Named after Giuseppe Maria Cambini (1746–1825), a composer of over 155 string quartets, the ensemble initially worked in collaboration with Palazzetto Bru Zane (Centre for French Romantic Music) to rediscover works by lesser-known composers such as Hyacinthe Jadin, Théodore Gouvy, and Félicien David, alongside standard repertoire by composers including Mozart, Haydn, Beethoven, and Mendelssohn. The quartet has performed widely in France, Europe, and North America in venues such as the Frick Collection in New York, the Phillips Collection in Washington DC, the Opéra-Comique, and the Musée d’Orsay, as well as major European festivals. Since 2012, the ensemble has recorded with Naïve Records (Ambroisie label) and since 2018 with Aparté.
