Biography

Q and Not U was a post‑hardcore band formed in 1998 from Washington, D.C., by drummer John Davis, vocalist‑guitarist Harris Klahr, guitarist‑synthesist Christopher Richards, and bassist Matt Borlik. They first gained attention with the 2000 single "Hot and Informed" and the debut album No Kill No Beep Beep on Dischord Records released in the same year. After Matt Borlik left in November 2001, the trio released Different Damage (2002) and Power (2004), adding synths, melodica, and layered vocals. The group toured the United States, Europe, and Japan before disbanding in 2005. In 2009, Christopher Richards became a pop critic for The Washington Post, and John Davis joined the University of Maryland’s SCPA.
