Polypores, the moniker of UK-based electronic producer Stephen James Buckley, also known by the alias Stefan Bachmeier, is known for crafting immersive, otherworldly soundscapes that blend elements of ambient, experimental, and cosmic music. Hailing from Preston, Lancashire, he has established himself as a key figure in the modern electronic underground, creating music that feels both futuristic and steeped in retro sci-fi aesthetics. He stepped out onto the scene in 2019 with the dreamily ambient "Dragon Lily / Those Infinite Spaces" and has since racked up an impressive discography of albums, including 2019 debut The Blow, Vol. 6 with Field Lines Cartographer, solo debut Floraâalso released in 2019âShpongos in 2021 and Multizonal Mindscrabble in 2023. 2024 saw the release of There Are Other Worlds.
