Plus One was formed in 1999 in Sacramento, California, by Nate Cole, Jason Perry, Jeremy Mhire, Nathan Walters, and Gabe Combs, all members of the Assembly of God Church. The group debuted with the single "Last Flight Out" in 2000, followed by the goldâcertified album The Promise released on 23 May 2000, which produced two Number one Christian radio hits, "Written on My Heart" and "God Is in This Place". In February 2002, Obvious was issued, debuting at Number one on the Christian charts and spawning singles "Camouflage", "I Don't Care", and "Let Me Be the One". The Christmas collection Christmas followed in October 2002, featuring traditional standards and original tracks. After the departures of Jason Perry and Jeremy Mhire in 2003, the remaining trio signed with Inpop Records and released Exodus on 18 November 2003, a more mature sound highlighted by the single "Be Love" and a cover of "Here I Am to Worship". The group disbanded in 2004 after the Exodus tour, with members pursuing solo projects and production work. A brief reunion in 2014 saw Nathan Walters, Gabe Combs, and Jason Perry release the single "My All". The bandâs catalog remains a reference point in contemporary Christian pop history.
