Biography

Peter Blumsom, known as Pete Dello, was born on 26 May 1942 in Oxford, United Kingdom, and worked as a singer, songwriter, arranger, producer and guitarist. He started in skiffle, co‑founded Grant Tracy and the Sunsets, and joined The Yum Yum Band in the mid‑1960s. His breakthrough came with the 1968 single "I Can't Let Maggie Go" from Honeybus, which charted in the UK and later appeared in a television advert. In 1971 he released the album Into Your Ears, credited to Pete Dello and Friends. The album was re‑issued several times on CD and LP. Pete Dello’s songs were covered by Dave Berry, Joe Cocker and Paul Carrack. He left the industry in the 1970s; Into Your Ears later sold for over £1,200 in pristine condition. Pete Dello died on 21 February 2026.
