Biography

Paul Dolden, born January 23, 1956 in Ottawa, Canada, is an electroacoustic music composer. He began his career at age 16 as a professional guitarist, violinist, and cellist, eventually turning to contemporary production techniques inspired by recording possibilities. At 29, Dolden won his first of many international awards, establishing himself as a prominent composer. His debut album, Sonarchy, The Electroacoustic Music of Paul Dolden, was self-released in 1985. Throughout the 1990s and early 2000s, he released several notable albums, including L'Ivresse de la vitesse (1994), Seuil de silences (2003), and Délires de plaisirs (2005). Dolden's compositions are characterized by a maximalist aesthetic, combining multiple layers of digital recordings. In 2014, he released Who Has The Biggest Sound?, continuing his exploration of electronic and acoustic elements.
