Begum Parween Sultana, born Parvin on May 24, 1950 in India, is a Hindustani classical singer of the Patiala Gharana. She received training from Acharya Chinmoy Lahiri and began her professional career with Abdul Majid's Assamese film Morom Trishna. Sultana's breakthrough came with her work on Bollywood films such as Gadar, Kudrat and Do Boond Pani. Her notable songs include "Humein Tumse Pyaar Kitna" from Kudrat (1981) and the theme song for Vikram Bhatt's 1920. She has recorded albums with labels including His Master's Voice, Polydor Records, Music India, Bharat Records, Auvidis Magnasound, Sonodisc, and Amigo. Sultana's vocal range spans nearly 4.5 octaves, and she is often accompanied by Pandit Shrinivas Acharya on the harmonium. She has received several awards, including the Padma Shri in 1976, the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award in 1998, and the Padma Bhushan in 2014.
