Biography

Park Yoo-chun (born June 4, 1986) is a Korean-American singer, songwriter, and actor, best known as a former member of the popular K-pop groups TVXQ and JYJ. He moved to the United States in 1998 and later returned to Korea in 2003 to debut as a member of TVXQ. After a legal dispute with their agency, S.M. Entertainment, in 2009, Yoo-chun and two bandmates formed JYJ, where they achieved success both in Korea and internationally. Yoo-chun also pursued a solo music career, releasing his first studio album, Slow Dance, in 2019. In addition to his music career, Yoo-chun became a prominent actor. He starred in popular dramas such as Sungkyunkwan Scandal (2010), Rooftop Prince (2012), and Missing You (2012). His acting earned him numerous awards, including "Best Newcomer" and "Most Popular Actor" at prestigious award ceremonies. However, his career faced setbacks, including legal issues and a drug scandal in 2019, after which he announced his retirement. Despite this, he returned to the public eye with new music in 2020, releasing his album RE:mind . Yoo-chun continues to have a fanbase, particularly in Japan and Thailand.
