Ochre is the stage name of the English electronic musician Christopher Scott Leary. He received musical training in audio production at Newcastle College and holds a masterâs degree in music. Leary adopted his moniker as a variation of the street name Oaker in Manchester, where he lived as a child. He reached wider visibility for his recording career, which began with the debut studio recording AudioMicroDevice (2001) followed by A Midsummer Nice Dream (2004) through the label Toytronic Records. Leary subsequently released the studio recordings Lemodie (2006) and Like Dust of the Balance (2009) followed by the extended play Isolette EP (2015). His discography included the studio recordings Beyond the Outer Loop (2017) and Understory (2020) followed by An Eye to Windward (2021). Leary has released the studio recording Oversail (2026). His musical compositions have been licensed for video games including LittleBigPlanet 2 and Euclidean Crisis as well as commercial productions for Google, Skoda, and Orange.
