Ocean Hai, born Hai Mingwei (海鸣å¨) on 10 July 1982 in Guangzhou, Guangdong, China, is a Chinese pop singer whose early talent was recognised when he won the âNew Idolâ contest in 2000 and became champion of the National Street Dance contest in 2002. After appearing as a special guest in Jacky Cheungâs music drama éªç¼æ¹ in 2005, he signed with Emperor Entertainment Group in 2006 following a second place finish on CCTVâs 梦æ³ä¸å½. His debut album, Dance Dance Dance, was released on 19 May 2007, featuring the lead single âè人ä¸æµ·â. In 2010 he issued the album æçåå¿ä¸æ¯æç, and he continued to release singles such as â大驾å
临â (3 January 2019), âä¸éé¿åæ°¸ä¸åâ (16 August 2019) and âå°å¹´æ¸¸â (29 September 2020). Ocean Haiâs work spans Mandarin and Cantonese releases and he remains active in contemporary Chinese pop music.
