Oberer Totpunkt is a German electronic music project formed in Hamburg in 2006 by Bettina Bormann and Michael Krüger. Their debut album 10 Grad vor OT was released in 2007 through Brainsmash Records and reissued by Danse Macabre in 2009. The band's second album, Erde ruft, was also released in 2009. Oberer Totpunkt is known for combining dark rock, aggrotech, and spoken word elements with minimal electro beats. Subsequent notable albums include Stiller Zoo (2010), which drew inspiration from fairy tales and sagas, and Desiderat (2014), which explore themes of longing. Their sixth album, Totentanz (2022), reached Number 1 on the Deutsche Alternative Charts and focused on inner demons. The band's live performances are enhanced by Bormannâs use of a Moog theremin. Oberer Totpunkt has also collaborated with various artists and appeared on compilations such as Zillo New Signs & Sounds (2009) and Radio Schwarze Welle Vol. 4 (2012).
