Loft is a German Eurodance and reggae fusion group founded in Hamburg in 1992. The name stands for "Live Our Fathers Teaching". The band was formed around the brothers Courtney Williams and Richard Wayne Williams, who come from Kingston in Jamaica. Other singers in the group over the years include Lori Glori, Gina Mohammed, Kim Sanders, Sandra Steinborn, Christiane Eiben and later Rosalina Biolan. Loft is produced by Michael Eisele and Dietmar Stehle. The music combines Eurodance, dancefloor and reggae with catchy choruses and rap elements. In 1993, Loft released the debut single "Summer Summer". The song reached number 10 in the German singles charts and became one of the best-known summer hits of the 1990s. "Hold On" was also released in 1993. The single climbs to number 21 in Germany. The debut album Wake The World follows in 1994. The album reaches number 32 in the German album charts. The singles "Love Is Magic" and "Wake The World" consolidate the group's success in Europe. The second studio album Future World is released in 1995. The singles "Don't Stop Me Now", "Free Me" and "It's Raining Again" are taken from this album. With "Mallorca", Loft landed another well-known party hit in 1996. After first disbanding in 1997, the group returned in 2003 with "Summer Summer (Recall)". This was later followed by "Still No. 1" and "Love Can't Be Wrong". Loft has been performing regularly at 90s festivals in Germany since the 2010s. Richard Wayne Williams died in 2016.
