Biography
Thy Catafalque, an avant-garde black metal band, was formed in 1998 in Makó, Hungary by Tamás Kátai. The group initially started as an avant-garde post-black metal project but evolved into an experimental outfit. Their debut album Sublunary Tragedies was released in 1999 under KaOtic Productions. In 2004, Thy Catafalque released TűnŠIdŠTárlat, moving away from traditional black metal influences. The band signed with Epidemie Records and released their concept album Róka Hasa Rádió in 2009. In 2011, they signed to Season of Mist and released Rengeteg. Notable releases include Geometria (2018) and Vadak (2021). Thy Catafalque's music was recognized for its experimental nature, with Róka Hasa Rádió narrowly missing the winner's place in the 2009 HangSúly Hungarian Metal Awards.
