Nasida Ria, a qasidah modern musical group from Semarang, Central Java, Indonesia, was founded in 1974 by HM Zain. The group initially consisted of nine women who were students of Zain's qira'at classes and began with traditional instruments like the rebana.
Their debut album, Alabaladil Mahbub, was released in 1978 by Ira Puspita Records. Nasida Ria gained national attention with songs like "Pengantin Baru" ("Newlyweds") and "Tahun 2000" ("Year 2000"), which blended Arabic music influences with Indonesian themes.
The group performed internationally, including in Malaysia for the Islamic New Year in 1988. Nasida Ria has released over 35 albums, including two in Arabic, and won several awards, such as the Islamic Cultural Center award in 1989.
