Biography

James Jeffrey Plewman, known as Nash The Slash, was born on March 26, 1948, in Toronto, Canada. He began his music career as a multi-instrumentalist, primarily playing the electric violin and mandolin. In 1975, he performed his first solo concert, presenting an original soundtrack to Luis Buñuel's silent film Un chien andalou. Nash The Slash founded the progressive rock band FM in 1976 and released their debut album, Black Noise, in 1977. He left the band soon after but resumed his solo career in 1978 with the EP Bedside Companion. He rejoined FM from 1983 to 1988. Nash The Slash's music spanned various genres, including progressive rock, new wave, and punk rock. Nash The Slash passed away on May 10, 2014.
