Naghma is an Afghan singer born in the Kingdom of Afghanistan in 1964. Naghma began a singing career in the early 1980s and moved to Kabul, where they performed with a girl's band at Rabia Balkhi Lece. Naghma married the singer Mangal, with whom they performed during the 1980s and early 1990s. Their early recordings were based on southern Afghan folklore. Their discography includes the albums Bachi Hamsaya, Best of Naghma, Kabul Nazaneen, and O Khoda Jan. Their recordings include the singles âLalaya Hawabazaâ (2011) and âThe Rough Guide to the Music of Afghanistanâ (2010). In 2014, Naghma received the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz and the Pride of Performance award from the President of Pakistan.
