Signe Tollefsen, born in 1981 in Utrecht, Netherlands, is a Dutch musician known for her work as a singer-songwriter. She began singing at seven and composed her first songs on guitar at 14. After studying classical singing and philosophy, she returned to the Netherlands to study music at the Amsterdam Conservatory. Tollefsen's career took off in 2006 when she won both the audience prize and the best musician award at the Grolsch Grote Prijs van Nederland. Her debut album, Signe Tollefsen, was released in September 2009 and received positive reviews. In January 2011, she released the EP Baggage. Her second album, Hayes, came out in September 2011, marking a transition from acoustic to electric guitar. Notable collaborations include performances with Stephen Malkmus and Ane Brun.
