Moreland & Arbuckle was an American electric blues and roots rock trio that formed in 2001. The group consisted of guitarist Aaron Moreland, vocalist and blues harp player Dustin Arbuckle, and drummer Kendall Newby. Moreland and Arbuckle met at an open mic session in Wichita and initially performed as an acoustic duo. They gained recognition after reaching the finals at the International Blues Competition in 2005. Their debut album, Caney Valley Blues, was released (2005). In 2006, they added Newby and evolved into an electric trio. Their recordings include the albums Floyd's Market (2006), 1861 (2008), and Flood (2010). Moreland and Arbuckle traveled to Iraq in 2008 to perform for American troops. In 2011, they released the album Just a Dream, followed by 7 Cities (2013), which explored the history of the explorer Coronado. After signing with Alligator Records in 2015, they released the album Promised Land or Bust (2016), which received a Blues Music Award nomination. They toured extensively throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe, supporting acts such as ZZ Top, Buddy Guy, and George Thorogood. The group disbanded in 2017 due to Moreland's dissatisfaction with life as a touring musician.
