Biography
La Santa Cecilia is an American band based in Los Angeles, California, formed in 2007. They blend cumbia, bossa nova, and boleros among other styles, representing a US bicultural identity rooted in Latin American influences and Mexican heritage. Their debut album Noche y Citas was released in 2010, followed by El Valor (2012). In 2013, they released their third studio album Treinta DÃas, which won a Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album in 2014. They were nominated in the same category for the album Buenaventura in 2017 and for Amar y Vivir in 2018. They performed at various venues including Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, and their music was featured on television shows such as Weeds and films like Cantinflas. They released their seventh album, La Santa Cecilia, in 2019. Their discography also includes the albums Someday New (2014) and Quiero Verte Feliz (2021).
