Biography

Minotauri was a Finnish doom metal band formed in Äänekoski in 1995 by guitarist and singer Ari Honkonen, who had previously been part of Morningstar. The band's initial lineup included other members from Morningstar, and they released their first demo the same year. After a period of inactivity, Minotauri resumed activities in 1997 with the addition of drummer Viljami Kinnunen. They released several demos, including Axe Attack (1997) and Metal Magic (1998), before signing with Iron Bonehead Productions in 2000 following the release of their demo Devil Woman. Their first single "Pain Of Life / Violence" was released that same year. In 2001, Minotauri recorded the EP Doom Metal Invasion, which was followed by a tour and the live album Funeralive (2002). The band's debut studio album, Minotauri, was released in December 2004 via Black Widow Records. In 2007, they released their second album, II, before disbanding later that year.
