Biography

Ministério Apascentar Music, formerly known as Toque no Altar, is a Brazilian contemporary Christian music group originating from the Igreja Evangélica Ministério Apascentar in Nova Iguaçu, Rio de Janeiro. Formed in January 2002, the group gained prominence with their debut album Toque no Altar (2003), featuring songs like "Faz Chover" and "Te Louvarei," which became staples in Brazilian churches. Their follow-up album, Restituição (2003), included the hit "Restitui," which won the Troféu Talento for Music of the Year in 2005 and sold over 500,000 copies. In 2005, they released Deus de Promessas, with the title track becoming another major success, earning the same award in 2006. The 2006 album Olha pra Mim continued their streak of impactful releases. However, internal conflicts led to a split in late 2006, with key members forming the group Trazendo a Arca. Despite this, Ministério Apascentar Music continued, releasing albums like É Impossível, Mas Deus Pode (2007), featuring "Eu Vou Viver uma Virada," which received a Latin Grammy nomination. In 2011, they released Ao Deus das Causas Impossíveis, marking a reunion with former member Davi Sacer. After a period of restructuring, the group returned in 2016 with Há Poder no Nome de Jesus, produced by Ronald Fonseca. In 2023, they celebrated 20 years with the album Legado, combining classic hits and new songs like "A Glória é Tua."
