Biography

Michel Bouvard, born on January 16, 1958 in Lyon, France, is a French organist. His musical journey began under the influence of his grandfather, Jean Bouvard. Michel Bouvard studied the organ at the Conservatoire de Paris and won the first prize at the Concours international d'orgue de Toulouse in 1983, launching his career as a concertist and professor. He was appointed professor at the conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Toulouse in 1985 and later directed the "Orgue et claviers" department at the CNR de Toulouse from 1994 to 2013. In 1995, he became a professor of organ interpretation at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse de Paris. Bouvard has been the titular organist of the Aristide Cavaillé-Coll organ at the Basilique Saint-Sernin in Toulouse since 1996 and co-titular of the organ at the Chapelle du château de Versailles since 2010.
