Biography
BK', born Abebe Bikila Costa Santos on March 20, 1989, in Rio de Janeiro, is a Brazilian rapper, songwriter, and one of the most influential figures in contemporary Brazilian hip-hop. Raised in Cidade de Deus before moving to Catete, he initially pursued film studies but turned to music, first making waves as part of the underground rap collective Nectar Gang. In 2016, he released his debut album Castelos & RuÃnas, which was widely praised and marked him as a rising force in the national rap scene. He followed up with Gigantes (2018), which was named one of the best albums of the year by Rolling Stone Brasil. In 2020, O LÃder em Movimento reinforced his status with politically charged lyrics advocating for Black empowerment. His 2021 EP Cidade do Pecado explored personal struggles and urban life through a fusion of hip-hop, samba, and funk. With ICARUS (2022) and Diamantes, Lágrimas e Rostos Para Esquecer (2025), BK' continued to push the boundaries of Brazilian rap, collaborating with artists such as Djavan, Trio Mocotó, and Milton Nascimento, among others. Later that year, he returned with the album PRODUTO DO AMBIENTE, released on December 16, 2025.
