Biography

Max Sedgley, born in England, is a British producer, multi‑instrumentalist and disc jockey whose early training in percussion at Dulwich College and later classical studies at the University of Edinburgh laid the groundwork for a career that blended electronic music with trip hop, and nu-funk influences. His breakthrough came in 2004 with the single "Happy", a remix that reached number 30 on the UK Singles Chart and was adopted by ITV for Euro 2004 coverage, featured in FIFA Street and various advertising campaigns. In 2006 he released his debut album From The Roots To The Shoots on Sunday Best, which included singles "Slowly" and "The Devil Inside" featuring Z‑Star, and further established his presence in the electronic scene. The following year, "Happy" expanded his discography, while 2010 saw the release of Suddenly Everything on Jalapeno Records, with tracks such as "Sound Boy" featuring Tor and "Something Special". In 2011 he issued Superstrong and continued to tour both as a DJ and with his ensemble Max Sedgley and the Shoots, collaborating with vocalists Tasita D’Mour and others. His work has been recognized for its crossover appeal, chart placements, and contribution to contemporary electronic music.
