Marutakeebisu is a rising three-piece all-girl rock band from Kyoto, made up of high school classmates Himeka (vocals/guitar), Rion (bass), and Kurumi (drums). Formed in the fall of their second year of high school, the group quickly gained attention after a video of them performing COMPLEXâs âBE MY BABYâ at school went viral on social media in March 2024, earning over 1.6 million retweets and 90,000 likes. The video caught the attention of legendary guitarist Tomoyasu Hotei and was even featured on Yahoo! News. Following this breakthrough, Marutakeebisu attracted praise from prominent figures like Makoto Takahashi and comedy duo Dainoji, and garnered interest from multiple major labels. Their street performances in Kyoto drew over 100 fans, proving their strong grassroots appeal. Each member contributes to the bandâs songwriting and composition, showcasing notable creativity and potential. Their track "Bikiri 18" from the first album Marutakeebisu (2025) marks the beginning of their professional journey.
