Markus âCaptainâ Kaarlonen (born 16 November 1973) is a Finnish alternative rock, electropop, and techno musician, producer, and keyboardist. Kaarlonen launched his career in the early 1990s demoscene, composing Amiga MOD music including the tracks âSpace Debrisâ (1990) and âBeyond Musicâ (1991). He released the debut album Dawn (1994) with the group Dance Nation and served as a producer for the pop group Aikakone. Kaarlonen worked for Futuremark as a Senior Web Developer and Audio Designer. He composed and produced music for the video games Max Payne 2 (2003), Shattered Horizon (2009), Alan Wake (2010), and Rochard (2011). As a member of the rock band Poets of the Fall, Kaarlonen released the albums Signs of Life (2005), Carnival of Rust (2006), Revolution Roulette (2008), Twilight Theater (2010), and Ghostlight (2022).
