Biography

Mario Piu, born Mario Piperno on August 26, 1965, in Italy, is a disc jockey and producer known for his contributions to dance and electronic music. He began his career in the early 1990s, releasing his first singles under his real name, including "Dangerous Control / The Big Man Is a Dreamer" in 1993. Piu adopted the pseudonym Mario Più in 1996 and gained significant attention with collaborations such as "Communication (Somebody Answer the Phone)" in 1999, which reached Number five on the UK Singles Chart. This track featured interference signals from mobile phones, a unique element that added to its appeal. Piu's breakthrough continued with the release of "The Vision" under the pseudonym DJ Arabesque in 2000, which peaked at Number sixteen on the UK Singles Chart. He is also known for his collaborations with Mauro Picotto, notably on the track "Arabian Pleasure" in 1999.
