Biography

Marie‑Chantal Toupin, born 14 July 1971 in Montreal, Quebec, began singing in local bars at six and later auditioned for Les Chanterelles. Resumed singing in 1991, performed at the Palais des Congrès, and secured a contract that led to her debut album Après Tout in 1998, before leaving the label. In 2000 released the album Marie‑Chantal Toupin, establishing style with hits such as "Comment j'pourrais te l'dire" and "J'veux que tu saches". Subsequent albums-Maudit Bordel (2003), Non Négociable (2005), Non Négociable – La Tournée (2006), and À Distance (2008)-featured charting singles, while 2006 tour earned an ADISQ silver ticket award for 25 000 sold. Releases, including Premier Baiser (2009), Onze Grands Succès à Ma Manière (2011), and Je Continuerai (2020), continued presence in Quebec’s pop‑rock scene.
