Biography

María León, born on February 14, 1986, in Zapopan, Mexico, is a versatile singer, actress, dancer, and songwriter known for her dynamic career across music and television. Her journey began at an early age, composing her first song at six and studying piano and classical guitar soon after. Her career took a major step forward in 2002 when she joined the girl group T’ de Tila, formed through the Televisa reality show Pop Stars. Though the group disbanded after limited success, María León quickly found her footing as the lead vocalist for Playa Limbo, where she achieved national recognition with hits like "El Eco de Tu Voz." In 2016, she transitioned to acting, debuting in the Telemundo-Netflix series Guerra de Ídolos. María León has since become a familiar face on Mexican television, serving as a coach on Me Pongo de Pie, a judge on Pequeños Gigantes, and winning the popular show ¿Quién es la Máscara? as Disco Ball in 2020. Her solo music career flourished with the release of the EP Inquebrantable (2020) and her debut album Alquimia (2022), showcasing her signature style that blends pop with Latin influences. In 2023, she released the single "Mi Deseo" from the original soundtrack of the Disney film Wish, where she also lent her voice to the character of Asha. She returned the following year with the urban-flavored radio hit single "Dame Tu Amor" featuring Yahir.
