Biography

Marc Reift, born on August 14, 1955, in Fleurier, Switzerland, is a performer, educator, composer, producer, conductor, and publisher. He began playing multiple instruments at age eight and was admitted to the Orchestre Symphonique de Bienne in 1975. Marc Reift later joined the Orchestre Symphonique de Berne and became the principal trombonist at the Opéra de Zürich. During his time at the Opéra de Zürich, Marc Reift also taught trombone. As a composer, he has created hundreds of pieces under pseudonyms, including Ted Barclay and Carlos Montana. His conducting career includes directing over 5,000 works across more than 800 albums with ensembles such as the London Wind Orchestra and the Prague Festival Orchestra. Marc Reift founded Éditions Marc Reift in 1983, which now holds over 85,000 titles, and has produced numerous albums since 1996.
