Manuel Pendón RodrÃguez, known as Manolo el Malagueño, was a Spanish singer born in Málaga in 1912. He started his career as a cantaor cancionero in Andújar, Jaén, in 1930. In 1943, he debuted professionally at the Teatro Fontalba in Madrid in the show La encontré en la serranÃa, recognized by Pepe Marchena and produced by Enrique Rambal. This marked a significant breakthrough, leading to widespread acclaim. He was known for his distinctive sweet cante style, referred to as cante dulce. Notable songs include "Una Rosa Se MorÃa / Aires De Córdoba", released as a single in 1944. His career spanned several decades, with posthumous album releases such as Figuras del cante jondo (1994), Manolo El Malagueño (2009), and Manolo "El Malagueño" (2017). Manolo el Malagueño passed away on November 5, 1975, in Seville.
