Biography
Mamiboys is an Indian and Singaporean hip hop, rap, and EDM boy band formed in 2007. Established by the producer Krisheno, the ensemble includes the vocalists Caleb Jacob and Kevi-J. The group is recognized for its contributions to South Indian cinema, debuting with rap vocals for the tracks âSeema Sirikiâ in the film Thottu Paar (2010) and âBindaasâ in Bindaas (2010). In 2012, their singles âChalo Indiaâ and âSiru Siru Thozhvigalâ were featured in the award-winning short film Roadside Ambanis. The band released its debut studio album, Dum Tea, in May 2013. In 2015, the ensemble faced controversy after accusing the director Thangam Saravanan of plagiarizing their music video concept for the film Anjala. Their discography includes the singles âKakalâ (2016) and âTake Me Somewhereâ (2021). Mamiboys became inactive in 2021 following the departure of Krisheno.
