Malcolm Strachan is a Scottish jazz trumpeter and composer based in Leeds. Best known as a founding member of the British jazz-funk collective The Haggis Horns in 2004, he went on to help form the Abstract Orchestra and has performed and recorded with artists such as Amy Winehouse, Mark Ronson, Corinne Bailey Rae, Jamiroquai, and Lou Donaldson. After graduating from the Leeds College of Music in 1996, Malcolm Strachan draws inspiration from 1960s hard bop, soul jazz, and Latin jazz, as well as Blue Note Records, bringing his own distinctive style to the mix. As a solo artist, he made his debut on the Haggis Records label with the album *About Time* (2020), followed by *Point of No Return* (2023) and Look on the Bright Side (2026), which reached No. 32 on the UK download charts.
