Biography

Malchishnik, a Russian hip hop group from Moscow, formed in 1990. Initially conceived as a boy band by producer and manager Alexey Adamov, Malchishnik featured five young members recruited from the Arbat breakdancers. The group's breakthrough came with the release of their debut album Поговорим О Сексе in 1992. In 1993, they released Мисс большая грудь, followed by Кегли in 1995. The group disbanded in the late 1990s but reunited in 2000 with DJ Dan and Mutabor recording new material under Classic Company. Their reunion albums include Пена (2004) and WeekEND (2005), though these did not achieve mainstream success. Malchishnik's contributions helped establish Russian rap as a genre, marking them as pioneers in the early 1990s.
