Ralph William Datoon, known professionally as Maki, was born on November 27, 1999, in Quezon City, Philippines. He is a Filipino R&B singer and songwriter who began writing songs during his high school years. Datoon initially gained attention with his viral singles "Saan?" and "Bakit?", featured on his debut EP Tanong, released on September 22, 2023. Maki's breakthrough came in 2024 with the release of his single "Dilaw", which topped local charts. The song also reached Number 1 on Billboard Philippines' relaunched Hot 100 chart. Maki signed with Tarsier Records in 2021, adopting the stage name "Maki." He performed at various events, including a guest appearance at LANY's concert and his own sold-out solo concerts titled Maki-Concert. In 2025, Maki embarked on regional tours and international joint tours with Silent Sanctuary and James Reid. He has also released the single "kahel na langit" in June 2025.
