Biography

Héctor Facundo Vitale, known professionally as Lito Vitale, was born in 1961 in Villa Adelina, Argentina. He began playing piano at a young age under the guidance of his father Rubens Vitale and formed the cooperative musical group MIA (Músicos Independientes Asociados) with other musicians from San Isidro at just 12 years old. In 1983, Vitale released his debut album Vital. He then formed the Lito Vitale Cuarteto in 1988, which gained significant popularity with their first album Ese Amigo del Alma, selling over 200,000 copies in Argentina and achieving gold status in Spain. Throughout his career, Vitale collaborated with various artists including Dino Saluzzi, Bernardo Baraj, Lucho González, and Juan Carlos Baglietto. He composed soundtracks for numerous Argentine films and received two Konex Awards (1995, 2015) as an arranger and one in 2005 as an instrumentist.
