Biography

Lionel Rogg, born April 21, 1936, in Geneva, Switzerland, was an organist and harpsichordist. He studied at the Geneva Conservatory of Music under Charles Chaix, Pierre Segond, André Perret, and Nikita Magaloff, and later with André Marchal in Paris. Rogg won international competitions in Munich (1959) and Ghent (1963). He taught fugue and organ at the Geneva Conservatory from 1960 to 2001 and performed Bach's complete organ works at Victoria Hall in 1961. Notable recordings include Handel: The Complete Organ Concertos (1970) and Bach: Organ Works Vol. 2 (1976).
