Biography

Liliana Felipe, born on August 22, 1954, in Las Varillas, Córdoba, Argentina, is a composer, singer, and pianist who later became a naturalized Mexican. She began her musical journey at the age of seven with piano lessons under Cuqui, continuing her education with Irene Timacheff and Antonio De Raco. Felipe's career took off when she joined the independent movement Canto Popular de Córdoba as part of the group Nacimiento in 1973. The group embarked on a tour across Latin America, eventually settling in Mexico in December 1977. In Mexico, Felipe collaborated with various artists and opened cabarets such as "El Fracaso" and "El Hábito." Her discography includes albums like Trucho (2002), Tangachos (2005), and Matar O No Matar (2005). Her work is known for its theatrical and cinematographic qualities, often addressing social issues. She has been an activist for veganism and human rights, collaborating with organizations like H.I.J.O.S.
