Letterstick Band, an Australian musical ensemble from north-east Arnhem Land, was formed by members of the An-Barra Clan near Maningrida. Named after wooden tools used for carving messages, the band played a unique blend of reggae and rock, known as saltwater rock, singing in both English and local Arnhem Land languages. Their debut album An-Barra Clan was released in 1998 through CAAMA. In 2001, Letterstick Band won the Deadly Award for Band of the Year. They followed up with their second album Diyama, also released by CAAMA in 2003. The band's music and story were documented in the film Diyama - Soundtracks of Maningrida.
