Biography

Les Musiciens de Saint-Julien, a French ensemble specializing in early and traditional music, was founded in 2005 by flutist and musettist François Lazarevitch. Named after Saint Julien du Mans, the patron saint of medieval minstrels, the group is known for its direct and simple musical expression rooted in oral traditions. Their debut album, Musique baroque Française pour flûtes & musette, was released in 2005. The ensemble has performed extensively across Europe and America, appearing at venues such as the Festival de Saint-Chartier and Salle Cortot. They have also been in residence at the Académie Bach d’Arques-la-Bataille from 2010 to 2012. Their recordings are produced by Alpha Productions.
