Biography

Les Marquises are a French musical group from Lyon formed in 2010 by multi-instrumentalist Jean-SÃ©bastien Nouveau. Nouveau previously led the ensemble Immune between 2001 and 2010 before establishing Les Marquises as a collective. They released their debut studio album, Lost Lost Lost (2010), which featured collaborations with Jonathan Grandcollot and Jordan Geiger. They followed this with the studio recording PensÃ©e magique (2014) on the label Ici, d'ailleursâ¦. Their third studio recording, A Night Full of Collapses (2017), featured the themes of night and sinuous musical structures. The group composed the soundtrack for the animated short film Le Tigre de Tasmanie (2018), which appeared at the Berlinale. Their discography includes the studio albums La battue (2020) and Soleils noirs (2023).
