Koh Sang-ji, born on August 3, 1983, is a renowned Korean bandoneon player. After studying under world-famous performers like Ryota Komatsu, Walter Castro, and Federico Pereiro, she has performed extensively overseas. She has also participated in numerous performances and recording sessions with prominent Korean artists such as Jeong Jae-hyeong, Kim Dong-ryul, Yoon Sang, Lee Juck, Hareem, and Yoo Hee-yeol, establishing herself as Koreaâs leading bandoneon artist. In 2014, she released her first full album Maycgre 1.0, featuring original compositions that blend Argentine tango techniques with Oriental melodies. In 2016, she gained acclaim for Ataque Del Tango, a reimagining of famous tango classics, which was warmly received by music fans. In 2017, inspired by Japanese animation, the musician released Tears of Pitou, showcasing a variety of styles including orchestra, rock, and jazz. In 2021, to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Astor Piazzollaâs birth, she released El Gran Astor Piazzolla, a tribute album that focused on eclectic arrangements highlighting each performerâs individuality, delivering a colorful soundtrack. Koh Sang-ji has explored genres from tango to new age and classical crossover, demonstrating musical versatility. Her single "Sailing," from the album Adventurer: The Fundamentals, released on August 18, 2025, entered Melonâs Top 500 Domestic Chart at number 111 four days after its release.
