King Adora was an English glam rock band formed in Birmingham in 1998. The group consisted of Matt Browne and Martyn Nelson, who had previously been part of other local bands. After adding bassist Robert Grimmit and drummer Dan Dabrowski, King Adora released their first singles "Bionic / The Law" (2000), "Big Isn't Beautiful" (2000) and "Smoulder" (2000). They signed a six-album deal with Superior Quality Recordings in 1998. In May 2001, King Adora released their debut album Vibrate You, which charted at number 30 on the UK Albums Chart. The band was known for their short, energetic live performances and gained support from BBC Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq, who broadcast several of their gigs. They played notable festivals such as T in the Park and Reading and Leeds Festivals in 2000. Their follow-up album Who Do You Love? was released in March 2004. Despite their early success, King Adora disbanded in 2005 due to lack of label support and changing tastes in the UK guitar music scene. The band reformed briefly in 2010 for shows in Birmingham and London but have been inactive since.
